The Cummins engine is made for heavy load. With constant idling and short drives it isn't hot enough to vaporise the water:

What happens after the delete

Cleaning a DPF or EGR only buys you time. Whatever caused it to clog the first time is still there, so it'll clog again. A delete gets rid of the actual source of the problem instead of just resetting the clock. Does deleting a Cummins void my warranty?
Yes, it is going to affect your warranty. You can check with your local dealership whether they are okay with doing warranty work on a deleted truck.
How long does a Cummins delete take at your shop?
It takes a full day to do a delete on the Cummins, since their software has more security built in. And 90% of our customers decide to get either a Banks Monster Ram or the deep pan, or both, at the same time.
Will this affect fuel economy?
You will get better fuel economy after the delete because you don’t have the regen cycles from the DPF.
Can you delete a 5.9L Cummins, or is that only for the newer 6.7L?
We do work on the 5.9L Cummins, but we specialize in the 6.7L.
My DEF freezes or gels up in cold weather, does deleting solve that?
Yes. We remove the whole system, so our clients that stay here in Edmonton during the winter don’t have any more problems with that.
