DPF, EGR and DEF Delete
GM/Chevy Duramax owners we see here come in with DEF/SCR system problems. This system was introduced in 2011 on the LML platform and the sensors are highly sensitive. The weak points are:
- DEF tank heater
- Fluid pumps
- NOx sensors
When these sensors get caked up in soot, or the heater fails in our Alberta winters, the truck triggers a severe “limp mode” or “speed restricted” countdown. Then your truck is forced to crawl until the problem is fixed.
These can be cleaned and replaced again and again, but you're just waiting for the next time it fails. We remove all of those so the problem doesn't come back.

Does deleting a Duramax void my warranty?
Yes, it would affect warranty. Please check with your local dealership whether they are okay with doing warranty work on deleted trucks.
How long does a Duramax delete take at your shop?
It takes about a day to finish a delete for a Duramax.
Will this affect fuel economy?
Yes, this will affect your fuel economy. The truck isn’t wasting diesel on the DPF system anymore, so you will get improvements.
Can you delete an older LB7 or LLY, or only the newer LML/L5P?
Yes, we service the older Duramax engines, but we specialize in the LML and the L5P.
Will my truck be louder after the delete?
Yes, it will be louder, depending on the type of exhaust you end up going with and the type of tune. We can customize those for you.
Do I need a custom tune after the delete, or is it included?
Yes, a tune is included with the delete. The ECM needs to have the DPF, DEF and EGR systems turned off, or you’ll get check engine lights and, worst case scenario, your truck will be in limp mode.
